General Information
With in excess of 24,000 students you'd be mad not to take
advantage of our Marketing & Advertising opportunities.
We have a number of marketing opportunities available within
the Students' Union (we can also try to accommodate your ideas),
to give you some idea here is what is currently available:
MUD
(Middlesex Union Direct)
is the Union's and University's only printed magazine. It
is written and edited by a team of students (over 100 different
contributors during the past year). It is published monthly
(during term time) and has a circulation of 4,000 (although
recent research by the NUS suggests that each issue may be
read by as many as 6 different people) and is an A5, full
colour, glossy magazine. The magazine is available from all
Union areas (shops, bars, and admin. offices) and is distributed
to the 5 main campuses.
Advertising rates are as follows:
A5
(full page) Back Page £300.00 + VAT
A5 (full page) Inside
Front Page £225.00 + VAT
A5 (full page) Inside Back Page £200.00 + VAT
A5 (full page) Internal Pages £175.00 + VAT
A6 (half page) Back Page £200.00 + VAT
A6 (half page) Inside Front Page £150.00 + VAT
A6 (half page) Inside Back Page £130.00 + VAT
A6 (half page) Internal Pages £110.00 + VAT
Book 2 issues and receive a 10% discount, book 3 and receive
a 15% discount, book 4 or more and receive a 20% disocount.
Flyer Inserts £100 per thousand + VAT
Hand distribution of flyers alone is also available at £125
per thousand + VAT
I
doubt you will find cheaper ad rates at any Union in the country,
let alone London, so ads sell very quickly.
Artwork
needs to be CMYK (for colour) or Greyscale (for mono). All
artwork should be minimum 300dpi (for optimum print quality)
and if a full-page ad needs 3mm bleed (if you or your designers
are unsure we are happy to help). Files should be supplied
as Tiff or Jpeg. We are experienced designers and can produce
artwork for you (please inquire for rates or samples of work).
Flyer
Distribution
Hand distribution of flyers is available £125 + VAT
per thousand (done by our student marketers).
Stall
Hire
Stall hire is available at each of our 3 main campuses Enfield,
Hendon & Trent Park. Each campus has in excess of 4,000
students and your stall is positioned in a high foot-fall
area (a lounge area which includes the main catering facility
for the campus as well as a bar and, at Trent Park a shop
as well). Stalls are charged at £100 per day and you
are able to distribute flyers and/or brochures etc. You can
bring display boards with you although space is limited to
an area of around 6'x 6'. This is particularly popular with
large companies like Barclaycard and STA Travel who regularly
do 'campus mini-tours' and traders (CDs, Books, Posters etc).
We are taking bookings at the moment, but be quick as the
best days are already going!
Poster
Display
Poster display is available, although it is limited (we use
the area for our own notices, posters, and promotions). Prices
are as follows:
A4
Poster £3 (each per week)
A3 Poster £5 (each per week)
A2 Poster £10 (each per week)
A1 Poster £20 (each per week)
A0 Poster £40 (each per week)
Dumpbins
We can position dumpbins for you at Enfield, Trent Park this
is charged at £75 per month or £500 per year.
E-zine
Database
We
also have a database of more than 6,000 students e-mail addresses
and can include an advert into one of our regular 'musuinfo'
e-zine. This is charged at 20p per e-mail.
Other
Opportunities
We also hope to offer text message advertising in the very
near future, please let us know if you would like further

This
is an idea of what is on offer at the moment. However, if

best to work out a price and try to accommodate your requirements.
