Statement on the Middlesex University Students’ Union Elections 22/3/13:

In the past 24 hours complaints have been received about presidential candidates Donald Nwachukwu and Reza Rahnema following an investigation by our independent returning officer these complaints have been upheld and therefore the candidates have been suspended, pending appeal, from the election in line with the election rules available here :

The votes which have been received for these candidates will now be re-distributed amongst the remaining candidates in line with the Single Transferable Vote methodology.

In the past 24 hours complaints have been received about presidential candidate Sardar Wahab Khan, Vice President Business and Law candidate Shahzaib Arshad and Vice President Art Design and Media Performance candidate Jorawar Singh, following an investigation by our independent returning officer these complaints have been upheld and therefore the candidates have been suspended, pending appeal, from the election in line with the election rules available here
