Meetings

The Executive Committee is made up from 4 full-time, paid Sabbatical Officers (President, VP Academic, VP Activities and Communications, VP Welfare and International Students) and seven Liberation Officers as well as the Chairs from each of the four main schools, all of which work voluntarily on a part-time basis.

These are joined by four SRC members from each school, two Student Trustees and two Smaller Site Representatives (Cat Hill and Archway) to make up the full Student Representative Council.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) meets six times a year. These meetings are chaired by the Student Governor who is also elected from the student body and serves on voluntary, part-time basis. All students have the right to attend SRC meetings and dates, times and venues will be published below in advance.

SRC is the one of the highest decision making bodies within the representative structures of MUSU, it is responsible for policy making, representing the voice of students and holding elected officers to account. SRC is made up of the Elected Executive Officers along with; Representatives from halls, societies, campuses and Schools. Anyone can attend and speak at SRC, but only the appointed members can vote.

The Executive Committee meets regularly to ensure that policy passed at SRC is followed and to deal with the day-to-day running of the Union, the President feeds information to and from Union Management Team Meetings.

In addition the Union holds an AGM in November (see below for details and downloads of this year's AGM). This meeting is open to all members and allows every student full voting rights on motions and policy and provides the opportunity to ask open questions to Officers and Trustees. In addition to an AGM, General Meetings can be called by members, again giving rights to all members to vote on important Union decisions.

In order for members to be kept informed of such decisions made in our meetings, we ensure minutes are always taken for meetings such as: Students Representative Council, Executive Committee meetings, and Trustee Meetings.
