General Info
MUSU
Academic provides advice and representation on academic appeals,
organises campaigns concerning academic issues (such as plagiarism)
and follows up complaints from students regarding the University's
academic provision. Plagiarism is taking unfair advantage
of another person's work and this is viewed very seriously
by the University. But often students unknowingly get trapped
into plagiarism as they forget to adequately reference their
work or unknowingly submit a similar piece of work that has
been put together by a group of colleagues working together.
These instances will not be overlooked and hence be extremely
mindful of "Plagiarism". In the unfortunate instance
of being alleged to have plagiarised, please contact the Academic
Sabbatical, Nikita Khattar
on 020 8411 6412 or email: n.khattar@mdx.ac.uk.
The Academic Sabbatical is based at Hendon and also acts as
the MUSU representative on Academic Board, Boards of Studies,
School Boards and the Hendon Campus Forums. This officer represents
students at various other committees within the University
such as the Assessment & Academic Regulations; Academic
Standards & Quality; Teaching & Learning; Progression
& Retention; Equal Opportunities and Race Equality; Marketing
& Recruitment; Collaborative Audit Task Force; Validation
and Review Panels, etc., ensuring that there is adequate student
representation on all these committees.
The Student Rep Scheme is your way of getting involved and
making a difference. The more active a class rep is, the more
assured is the cohort of having a great academic experience.
You do not require experience; MUSU trains you. The Acadmic
Sabbatical liaises with students and MUSU to ensure that students
are trained and that the views of students are taken to the
above-mentioned committees of the University.
