Middlesex University Students' Union (MUSU) understands that
you too are part of the Middlesex University family of students
and we have great pleasure in extending the membership of
our Union to you.
What do you have to do?:
Contact our student administrator at Trent Park. The mailing
address is Middlesex University Students' Union Building,
Trent Park, Bramley Road, Southgate, N14 4YZ (tel: 020 8411
6450) or download
the NUS Democracy Card application form
The
application form should be countersigned by your institution
to confirm that you are an enrolled student and attach a recent
passport/stamp sized photograph. Also please enclose a postage
paid self addressed enveloped to enable us to send the NUS
card to you. This opt-in system entitles you to an associate
membership at MUSU.
Benefits & Limitations:
As an associate member of MUSU, you are entitled to the Transport
for London discount card as per their terms and conditions.
You will be welcomed at MUSU events & campaigns, clubs,
bars and societies, and all the services that MUSU has on
offer. MUSU will be happy to be your representative voice
on major issues at the NUS, but unfortunately, you may not
contest or vote in either a MUSU or NUS election. Nor would
you automatically be entitled to services offered directly
by the University as those vary and are governed by the Memorandum
of Co-operation (MoC) between your institution and Middlesex
University.
So what are you waiting for
come along and join MUSU!
London
Transport Photocard
Transport for London, with the support of the University of
London Union (ULU) and the National Union of Students (NUS),
offer students the opportunity to obtain discounts on their
Bus, Tube, Docklands Light Railway and Tramlink travel in
and around London. Although we do not issue the cards directly,
we do stamp and sign the forms validating your student status.
With a Student Photocard, you can buy a 7 Day, monthly or
longer period ticket from the 'Youth' range. This range of
tickets comprises 'Youth' Bus Passes, 'Youth' LT Cards (valid
on bus, Tube, Docklands Light Railway and Tramlink only) and
'Youth' Tube point-to-point season tickets.
You will save 30% off the price of an adult rate Bus Pass
and point-to-point season ticket, while the price of a 'Youth'
LT Card is 30% less than the equivalent adult rate Travelcard.
These discounts apply to tickets bought from 1 September 2002
with an expiry date of no later than the expiry date of your
Student Photocard.
An administration fee of £5.00 is required (not for
an extension Photocard). When completing Section 3 of the
application form, be especially careful. Course of 1 year
or less complete the section headed 'Dates of course of 1
year or less' only by entering the course start date and end
date. Courses of more than 1 year complete the section headed
'Course for more than 1 year' only. If in your intermediate
1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year, ticket the appropriate box
only - do not enter any dates. If in your final year, tick
the final box and then enter your final term start and end
date. Ensure that your application form bears the authorisation
stamp, establishment registration number and is signed by
an authorised signatory of the Students' Union. Enclose a
valid form of payment (credit/debit card, cheque/postal order
made payable to "Transport Trading Limited"), for
the fee of £5.00 which covers administration costs,
postage and packing (we do not accept cash). This fee is non-refundable
because we still incur costs in processing incorrect and incomplete
application forms. Enclose one (1) passport size photograph
(40mm x 46mm) with your name printed on the reverse. This
confirms that the photograph is a true likeness of you.

the Queue and Save Money Too
